Her New Role
After 10 years of teaching, Miss Kaylee is taking on a new role at EPIC Dance Center!
While you'll still find her in the classroom doing what she loves, she's also stepping into a new role as our Assistant Director. We sat down with her to talk about her new role, what she's bringing to EPIC, and what she's most excited about for the future.
What made you excited to take on a leadership role?
I’m excited for the opportunity to give back to a studio that means so much to me and help EPIC continue to grow! I have been apart of EPIC since I was 13 years old, the studio has always been a warm and welcoming community for me.
What is one thing you’ve learned from teaching that you think will help you as a leader?
Every dancer is different. Teaching has taught me the importance of patience, communication, and meeting people where they’re at.
What are some of the things you’ll be helping with behind the scenes at the studio?
I’ll be helping with day-to-day operations, supporting teachers, communication, events, and anything else that helps keep the studio running smoothly! Over the summer, we have been working on our new EPIC Wear shop in the studio! I am so excited for all of the new apparel and designs.
What do you think makes a dance studio feel like a community?
When everyone feels welcomed, supported, and like they truly belong. EPIC feels like a second home!
What are some things you’d love to see EPIC continue to grow or improve upon?
I’d love to see us continue creating new opportunities for our dancers, supporting our teachers, and building an even stronger studio community.
You’ll still be teaching while taking on your Assistant Director role. What do you love most about being in the classroom?
The dancers! I love watching their confidence grow and seeing their personalities shine through dance.
Is there anything new you’d love to help bring to the studio in the future?
I’d love to bring new opportunities, events, and experiences that get our dancers excited and even more connected to EPIC! This year we are doing an EPIC Field Day, where family and friends can come shop our new merchandise store and customize their own apparel!
What’s your favorite part of watching a dancer grow throughout a season?
Watching their confidence grow and seeing them accomplish something they once thought they couldn’t!
